Olink® Technology
Olink® technology is a powerful tool for studying protein expression, allowing a comprehensive understanding of biological processes.
Our service leverages two different Olink® panels – Target (96 and 48) and Flex – and Olink® Explore and Explore HT platforms
The protein detection is allowed by Proximity Extended Assay (PEA), a sensitive and high-throughput technology.
Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) works by using pairs of antibodies, each attached to unique DNA strands, to bind specific proteins in a sample. When both antibodies bind to the same protein, the DNA strands come into close proximity and hybridize. This hybridized DNA is then amplified using PCR, and the amount of DNA generated reflects the concentration of the target protein.
Olink® Explore platform
Our bioanalytical laboratories are equipped with SPT Labtech’s mosquito® Liquid Handling and dragonfly® discovery instruments to automate key steps when carrying out large-scale proteomics studies using the Olink Explore platform.
This high-throughput biomarker discovery platform uses NGS readout on Illumina® instruments and Olink’s proprietary Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology to measure thousands of human plasma proteins from small sample volumes.
The Olink® Explore 3072 provides access to the entire Olink® protein library of around 3000 assays, suitable for exploratory proteomics and multi-omics studies. Alternatively, for focused projects, one from the eight Explore 384-plex panels within the Explore 3072 library can be chosen.

Olink® Target panel
The Target 96 & 48 panels offer high-multiplex immunoassays designed to target specific biological processes, disease areas, or pathways, making them ideal for focused protein biomarker discovery.
By enabling the simultaneous identification of multiple proteins, these panels allow for the creation of comprehensive protein signatures, facilitating faster and more informed decisions in biomarker research. Proteomics analyses using the Olink® Target 48 panels are conducted in our labs under GCLP conditions.

Olink® Target 48 Mouse Cytokine
- Measures 43 biomarkers from just 1 µL of sample
- Monitor Inflammation and Immune Response.
- Carry out longitudinal studies on the same mouse (multiple blood samples), to avoid experimenting on a large number of mice.
Olink® Flex panel
Olink® Flex is a personalized product that allows the assembly of a biomarker panel comprising up to 21 human proteins.
This is made possible by the ability to select from a pool of approximately 200 pre-validated protein biomarkers, which can be combined in various combinations, letting you select specific proteins from Olink’s vast library to tailor your study to your exact needs.
Proteomics analyses using the Olink® Flex panel are conducted under GcLP conditions.
